Bollywood or rather the Indian Film Industry has had its fair share of Celebrity Fights. Best friends becoming enemies, star actors becoming arch rivals, these are some of the gossip stories that keep Bollywood alive along with the other cliché scandals of love affairs and breakups. Salman Khan and Vivek Oberoi
Aishwarya Rai was the main reason for this major rift between Salman Khan and Vivek Oberoi. Though, Vivek Oberoi couldn’t even come close to Salman as Salman Khan remained aloof and ignored him as if he did not exist. After Vivek broke off with Aishwarya Rai, he started sending out feelers to Salman Khan for a patch up through the media. He even went on to publicly apologize to Salman, but his worst humiliation happened when Salman refused to even acknowledge or talk about him or his apology. Vivek Oberoi surely gets the super popat of the century award. 

Vivek Oberoi is clearly the popat in this fight.

Salman Khan and Subhash Ghai
Subhash Ghai made a comment on Salman Khan when Maine Pyaar Kiya was being shot. He said, ‘How can this short lanky boy become a hero?’ This was taken very badly by Salman Khan. After Maine Pyaar Kiya became a hit, Salman Khan made it a point to fight back with Subhash Ghai… literally. Both got into a fist fight in a party thrown by Subhash Ghai which was gate crashed by Salman Khan.

Things were sorted out between the two Salman’s father, Salim Khan intervened and as of now, Salman and Subhash Ghai have no problems between them. Touchwood.

Ram Gopal Verma and Karan Johar
Two film makers from totally different schools of thoughts, Ram Gopal Verma and Karan Johar were at loggerheads with each other for a long time. Both criticized the other’s films and mocked each other. But it was always done via the media and the press.  

Though, things seemed to have cooled down between them, maybe for the simple reason that none of them have made a hit film for a very long time so there is nothing to criticize, anyway. Hehehe…

Shahrukh Khan and Shirish Kunder
Shirish Kunder and Shahrukh Khan haatha-paai (Fist fight) is the most recent spat in Bollywood. Apparently Shahrukh Khan could not take the joke that Shirish made thru’ the social networking site, Twitter where he wrote, ‘I just heard a 150 crore firecracker fizzle out’. Shahrukh Khan had obviously felt bad about this tweet and the day he got a chance, he bashed up the director husband of Farah Khan, Shirish Kunder.

Well, if Shahrukh Khan has the temerity to make fun of everyone else on public platforms like award functions, etc… I guess, he should also be able to take a joke on himself. Tut, Tut!

Shahrukh Khan and Farah Khan
Farah Khan and Shahrukh Khan had a fall out two years ago when Farah Khan cast Akshay Kumar instead of Shahrukh Khan in her film, ‘Tees Maar Khan’.

It seemed that things had been sorted out between the two but after the Shirish Kunder ‘punchgate’ scandal, it seems there are many sore issues still to be sorted between Farah Khan and the king Khan.

Madhur Bhandarkar and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
Madhur Bhandarkar went public with his ire and disappointment with Aishwarya Rai when she walked out of his film, Heroine, after she learnt that she was pregnant. Mr. Bhandarkar had to face a lot of flak because Bollywood is always considered as one big family and instead of being happy for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, he displayed his displeasure and that too publicly in the media which was totally uncalled for.

What people will do for publicity… tut tut!

Dev Anand and Dilip Kumar
The legendary conflcit between two legends is maybe just that… a legend. We shall never know now that Dev Anand is no more. We have heard stories and more storied about the conflict between Dev Anand and Dilip Kumar but nothing can be said for sure. It was heard that Dilip Kumar even opposed the conferring of the Bharat Ratna to Dev Anand which didn’t go down well with Dev saahab till the end.

Dilip Kumar did mention that he wanted to patch things up with Dev Anand but it was not to be. May the soul of Dev Anand rest in peace.

Amitabh Bachchan and Rajesh Khanna
After working in two films, Namak Haraam and Anand, they seemed like the best of the friends. But after Amitabh Bachchan started rising in stature and Rajesh Khanna started sliding down in the popularity charts, the hatred started brewing in Rajesh Khanna’s heart. To date, Rajesh Khanna hates the person who even dares to mention Mr. Bachchan’s name in front of him.

Once considered the superstar of India, Rajesh Khanna just seems bitter and jealous of the mammoth rise of Amitabh Bachchan as a legendary superstar. A lot of people have to say that Rajesh Khanna deserves whatever he has faced post his superstardom because of his high handed attitude.

Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan
in 2008, two friends were partying together at a bash held for the girlfriend of one of them. Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan at the birthday party of Katrina Kaif in 2008 is remembered for all the wrong reasons because it ended in the most bitter fight between two icons of the nation. It seems Shahrukh Khan commented on Aishwarya Rai who was the ex- girlfriend of Salman which angered him and both got into a fist fight. The rest, as they say, is history.

This fight or conflict doesn’t seem to be resolved any time soon as it is learnt that Shahrukh Khan, while punching Shirish Kunder, even mouthed a threat to Salman Khan who is close to Shirish. The big fight continues…

Aamir Khan and Filmfare Awards
Aamir Khan acted as Munna in Rangeela and Shahrukh Khan played the role of Ram Jaane in a film with the same name. Is there even a question in anyone’s mind of who was the better actor that year? Well, it seems it was a question in the mind of the then editor of Filmfare, Khalid Mohammed. It seems he went to invite Aamir Khan to the Filmfare awards night and asked him to perform a song at the function if he wanted the award for best actor. Aamir was shocked that he was making such an offer. He bluntly told him that he will not perform and that if he thought he deserved an award, only then should he give an award to him. He threw Khalid Mohammed out of his house that day and the rest is history. Shahrukh Khan got the best actor award for ‘Ram Jaane’ that year and Aamir Khan boycotted all popular awards from that day and remains steadfast till date.

None of these so called popular Bollywood awards are genuine, is so obvious that most actors just charge money to attend these functions which the channels happily pay as they want their TRPs at the end of the day. Who cares about who gets the awards or who doesn’t? The one who agrees to perform and attend will get the award. Period.
